Benefits of training outside

16 Sep

How many of you are cooped up indoors for most of the day?

There have been many studies over the past few years analysing the link between   mental health and exercise. Recent results have concluded that exercising in a natural environment instead of indoors, can enhance the positive effects on your mental wellbeing as well as physical wellbeing.

Exercising outdoors is associated with greater feelings of revitalisation, increased energy and positive engagement, together with decreases in tension, confusion, anger and depression. Participants in these various studies reported greater enjoyment and satisfaction with outdoor activity and stated that they were more likely to repeat the activity at a later date.

Many people are intimidated by the gym, or can only train in peak times when a gym is absolutely jam packed. Whether than intimidates you, or makes your workout less effective, they are both issues that can be solved by training outdoors. There are no space restrictions and you can breathe fresh air instead of sharing the air of hundreds of other sweaty people in a cramped gym.

Why not give it a go and see what benefits you discover?
